Important Notice — July 2016
The United States is at a critical time right now, with a Senate Bill we call the “DARK Act” looming before us. (The DARK Act will Deny Americans the Right to Know what we are eating and feeding to our families.) Our Senators are scheduled to vote on Wednesday, July 6. We need all hands on deck to keep this bill from passing.

For more info about this please go to: DARK Act

NH Right to Know GMO
is a statewide network of advocates declaring our fundamental Right to Know if our food contains ingredients derived from Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Together, we are building a critical mass of support for the passage of legislation requiring the mandatory labeling of GMO foods in New Hampshire.

We are a group of young mothers and fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers, activists and farmers, store clerks, health care providers, educators, politicians and retirees. Although we come from different backgrounds and may not always agree on how to get there, we do share a common belief: New Hampshire has the Right to Know what is in our food, and New Hampshire NEEDS a GMO labeling bill ... NOW!

We supported House Bill 660, New Hampshire’s bill “requiring the labeling of genetically engineered foods and agricultural commodities.”Unfortunately, that bill was not passed by NH Representatives on January 22, 2014.

We also worked to promote the passage of Senate Bill 411 which was retained for interim study, and then expired at the end of 2014.

We are advocating for a strong bill that will require the mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods in NH’s House and Senate in 2016.

New Hampshire is proud to be a member of “Citizens for GMO Labeling” (, “GMO Action Alliance” ( and of “Right To Know - GMO,” a coalition of states ( We work with other NGOs, including (but not limited to): Center for Food Safety, GMO Free USA, Consumers Union, Organic Consumers Association, Just Label It, Environmental Working Group, Food Democracy Now and Moms Across America.
